You see it all over; “steal like an artist”, “standing on the shoulders of giants” and all other books, series, movies, and podcasts. We are rarely unique that we are doing something that has never been done before or that has not been built on knowledge gained by others. We see it in music, paintings, pictures, fashion, and everything else that is created. I can still remember being at university and being told that my thesis was supposed to be built on all existing work. That a large portion of my work needed to contain a review of theories of previous research.
Sometimes I forget to take this with me in my daily life and work. I am not the first to go on holiday, not the first to start a project. So, my tip to you (and me) is whenever you have a problem, whenever you have questions or bump into something you do not understand, talk with the people around you, open the search engine, and find a good book, podcast, or TED talk. Compare those and make your approach unique, bon chance.
