Let out the inner child

Have you done so lately?

Look at your kids, or any kids and wonder or even marvel about their openness, inquisitory state of mind, lack of judgment, lack of assumption… or sometimes being full of assumption which as a grown-up we would call naïve?

Longing for their lack of responsibility, lack of worry, trust in the world as a whole, spending your days playing, doing what you feel like, eating when you want, drinking what you like, running, jumping, laughing out loud and doing what pops into your head.

You can and you should.

I would suggest holidays could help you unwind, but most of us plan those complete with traveling, entertainment, stress, and running around doing things for our spouse, our Instagram, and what we want to tell our friends and family about how wonderful this has not been.

So do try this at home.

Plan a weekend for you, and maybe your partner if you really feel free together. But the first one might be better alone or with a way-back-when friend.

Step 1: Plan nothing.

Step 2: Go grocery shopping together, put your feet again on the shopping cart and drive till the end of the lane, put in the cart what you really love, things with memories (Hubba bubba anyone?), things you never tasted (blue chips), and go for it

Step 3: Do not wear a watch, do not look at the clock, and do what you want (outside of screens, no tv, no phone, no nothing). In my case, I take off my shoes and start running on a green field. The feeling of green grass at my feet, the sent, the running making me feel free… Trying to catch the butterfly and lie in the grass watching the bees and so on…
